Calling all thrill-seekers, risk-takers, and horror-film fanatics — Halloween is approaching! If you’re looking for something a little more on the wild side for Halloween, you’re in luck. This year, instead of the usual scary movie and trick-or-treating, why not put yourself in the middle of the action? Head to one of the few haunted exhibits in Charles County for a chilling and exciting experience.
Vampire Manor has been scaring visitors since 1989. What started as a fundraiser for the Charles County Dive and Rescue Team has turned into a 30-year tradition. If you dare, take a walk through the haunted house with unexpected twists, turns, and monsters. Vampires, zombies, and more will be there to greet you at the old abandoned home. Head to Vampire Manor to enjoy a night full of frights, while also benefiting non-profits such as the Charles County Dive and Rescue Team and the Bel Alton Volunteer Fire Department.
From October 11th to November 1st, visit the Trail of Terror at the Blue Crabs Stadium. The Trail of Terror is made of 9,000 square feet of cornstalk trails and dark hallways leading up to scary rooms. Learn about the history that haunts the land as you explore the trails. A new attraction will be featured this year called “THE ASY⅃UM”, which will feature spirits of patients who are now trapped on the land. Explore the twists and turns, and prepare for true terror.
Although it’s a little over an hour’s drive from Charles County, Cox Farms Fields of Fear will not disappoint. With 4 different attractions, 3 of which intend to scare, there’s plenty to do. Take a trip on the Dark Side Hayride to discover the Lost Circus. Walk through half a mile of woods in The Forest and encounter the occult, chainsaws, and anything else you may be afraid of. Cornightmare has been completely redone for the 2019 season, so be ready to experience fear like no other. Looking to take a break from all the scare? Enjoy the Firegrounds with bonfires, karaoke, slides, and more friendly-fun.
If you didn’t know what to do for Halloween, you sure do now! If you love the feeling of fear and the spirit of Halloween, be sure to visit one of these haunted exhibits in Charles County.
